The development of onset photography has evolved in the late decade. Now with the growth of new and innovated cameras most anyone can become the designated onset photographer. Although for many occasions it has been equated as a minor hobby, now more than ever, a good number of armature photographers are seeking to make a living in this budding world. Paparazzi for one are a great example of how onset photography and technology has wedded together to a new frontier. Now almost anyone can follow tweets and be on location to get the latest shot of the most idolized couples. It is almost as if onset photography as left the old scene of wedding photos at the park to anywhere and anytime you are out for a night on the town. With the advent of photo sharing on social media sights, it is no wonder that companies have waned away from large bulky cameras to the more sleek on the go camera. It is as if to match the speed of culture technology is re-defining itself to literally “capture the moment.” There seems to be a transition nowadays, from the formal prepare yourself for a portrait to I really want to know what you are doing on your free time photography. If onset photography wants to exist in the next ten to thirty years, can it really depend on grandma’s high school reunion or Aunt Selma’s second wedding? Rather, what seems to be taking place with those in the onset photography industry is a wedding of both quality and mobility. For example, if a family is at a fundraising event and wants to take a visiting group portrait, the onset photographer will probably have booth, a specialized camera, a laptop plugged into the wifi and an attached photo jet printer to make the most of every moment. This is something a single Cannon Powershot could never accomplish. Such is the advantage of adjusting to the times.
